How it all started...

Festering since the early days of ministry, the idea to pastor a church that he founded finally came to fruition. It started with a simple inquiry after being awaken from her slumber. Lady Harris woke up and asked a question that rekindled a 30 year old desire when she ask, "Have you ever thought of having your own church?"
That one question led to a Google search of vacant churches in the area.          Oddly enough, or hindsight reverberates, Godly enough, there was a rundown church located on 111 Hardwick Street in Milledgeville Georgia. It had only been short months earlier that Pastor Harris and Lady Harris were inquiring about starting their own business, a day reporting center and Pastor Lillie Trip had highly recommended her nephew, Mr. Rico Person as a liaison  whenever we were in need of a real estate purchase. After the exchange of contact information, a few phone calls put Pastor and Lady Harris on a collision course with destiny.
A showing of the property was scheduled, which rendered mixed emotions. The building was dilapidated. There were obvious signs of water damage, visible sign of mold and mildew buildup, smelly carpet and peeling paint. It was going to take a gallant effort at best to get close to opening for service anytime in the foreseeable future.
This insurmountable task took a back seat to the comfort of an already established 15 year presence with Pastor Harris' current ministry assignment. However, God had another plan. After a few conversations with Brother Rico, he became not only a real estate agent, but the confirmation of destiny. He outline the path to ownership, included a few miraculous testimonies and there was nothing, and I mean nothing that was thrown at him that he did not accept as a head on challenge or put it on the shelf for another more than a two day discovery period. He just kept saying, "Bishop I got this", "That's easy", and "Trust me".
Pastor Harris just kept riding by the church every day after work and praying. Finally, an offer was made but was rejected by the seller. They simply counter offered with a final offer, take it or leave it. The counter offer was accepted with the agreement to address issues that the property inspection had revealed. With the definitive items in place there was one question left unanswered, "How was Pastor and Lady Harris going to pay for this church?"
The desperation to secure financing came after every lending institution that Pastor and Lady Harris applied to concluded that "The Ministry" was too new and their requirements for approval mandated a three year financial disclosure.  Pastor Harris was told my some institutions to just call back in three years to which he replied, "In three years you'll be calling me." With some  creative finagling, the closing on Facebook and congratulatory messages soon followed. Little did the reading public know that Pastor and Lady Harris had closed in escrow and the sellers were demanding their funds. Although they had no money, they had the promise from the Father that said, "I'll never leave you nor forsake you."  Brother Rico again reached into his bag of experience creative financing and pulled out one of the craziest methods Pastor and Lady Harris had ever heard of.
The sellers had reached the end of their patience rope with all of the postponing and delays. They wanted no part of owner financing or anything else but cash. They issued an ultimatum with the promise to place the property back on the market if an all cash finalization was not reached by the Friday of that week. Brother Rico began working to the wee hours of the morning and with on question he deflated the anxiety of the approaching deadline. HE chuckled and asked, "Bishop, have you thought about what you are going to name this church?" He then said, "I don't know what you're going to call it but the name FAITH has got to be in it somewhere because it taking a tremendous amount of Faith to get this deal done." With a pumped fist in agreement Pastor Harris replied, "God had already put that in my spirit."
A five member team of investors were assembled and the journey to financing was under way. The ultimatum date came and still there was not money. However, around noon one investor donated $30,000 dollars, then another donated $20,000 dollars and another donated $5,000 dollars. It was too late in the day to wire the money so a letter from the bank was sent about the amount being held in escrow.
